ATLANTA u A cloudy yet warm day greeted attendees of the 2010 Georgia Life Sciences Summit, and as they made their way through the AmericasMart convention center, the phrase of the day seemed to be "global health."
While the meeting, hosted by the Georgia Bio, highlighted local life science efforts as well as few of Atlanta's own biotech companies such as Inhibitex Inc. and InVasc Therapeutics Inc., the overarching emphasis was on global health, particularly the reach of big pharma and biotech into poor and emerging markets.
