Town residents who live next to auto junkyards will have an annual opportunity to let town officials know if those businesses are being good neighbors.
A local law covering the regulation and licensing of vehicle parts salvage activities and businesses in town was approved unanimously by the Town Board on Thursday night.
There are four junkyards in the town, and three of the owners showed up at a prior meeting to help work out the details of the local law that replaces an existing ordinance.
The new law establishes a junkyard review committee that will hold a public hearing every year, so neighbors …
